Most of us as Dental Surgeons need to undertake photographs for professional and personal reasons. Many of us are amateur photographers. Some of us are good in day to day photography and so better equipped to take clinical photographs then those who have not had any professional exposure to this important aspect of clinical dentistry.

I feel privileged for having been asked to review this book by the upcoming Star Dr. Matrishva Vyas. Dr. Vyas an Orthodontist, in his amateur effort of book writing has made an excellent gift to the dental profession. This book of less than 100 pages (98 pages to be precise), hard bound, international class print on good paper  is  an excellent piece of work which should be possessed by each one of us,  dental student/dental surgeon/postgraduate student or a teacher.  This book has been organized in ten chapters whereby knowledge of camera, its technical aspects making photography for various aspects of dentistry, care and presentation has been covered in an excellent blend of lucid text and excellent photographs. Dr. Vyas has beautifully given example of common mistakes and how to rectify them.

Almost all aspects of photography in dentistry are covered however orthodontic photographs occupy little more prominence in the book for simple reason of   photographic records being must for orthodontic diagnosis.  Dr. Vyas who is an Orthodontist would also make an obvious difference.  The book mainly covers digital photography and we understand that film photography is now on the verse of getting extinct.

This book is a must read for every dental and postgraduate student, must for each Dental College library.
